Hanoi’s Imperial Citadel turns into ‘Piazza Italia’

A section of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long in Hanoi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010, will turn into an Italian piazza with food stands, music and fashion shows. The event is part of the second “Piazza Italia” cultural fairs which includes demonstrations promoting Italian traditions in a spirit of sharing and partnership with Vietnam.

The event, which opens on 10 November, will give local people the chance to familiarise themselves with the best of the “Italian Way of Life”. It will also include an area where Italian and Vietnamese companies can showcase their top designs, a sports area (especially football), promotion of food and wine and stands for Italian restaurants and wine distributors with an entertainment stage.   There will be musical shows in Italian with opera singers and musicians  from Italy. There will also be Vietnamese musical productions and a fashion show featuring Italian brands and gourmet cooking demonstrations.
