The Farnesina Collection will travel to India to kick off the major contemporary art event in New Delhi: the India Art Fair 2019.
Thanks to the initiative promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC), 13 works from the Collection will be exhibited first in the Indian capital, from 31 January to 3 February, and then in Calcutta and Mumbai.
The New Delhi Fair will include the Country’s major art galleries in addition to international galleries, artists, foundations, festivals and also several Institutions including – for the first time this year – the IIC. The goal is to give both the local and the international public an innovative perspective of the cultural history and development of Southern Asia, also in connection with other cultures.
The Farnesina Collection, one of Italy’s largest contemporary art collections, will also be displayed at the Italian Cultural Institute in
New Delhi from 13 February to 2 March. The works on show will include ‘Migration India’ by Pietro Ruffo, which is on permanent display in Calcutta, ‘Ossimoro Sorvolante’ by Ontani, ‘Dame Ninette de Valois’ by Enrico Baj, and ‘A spasso con la natura’ by Bruno Ceccobelli.
