Leonardo: 5 concerts in Bahia Blanca, Argentina

Bahia Blanca, a city south of the vast province of Buenos Aires, kicked off a cycle of concerts to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci with a concert entitled ‘Amanecer desde Toscana’ (‘Dawn in Tuscany’). With this cycle, which is entitled ‘Leonardo da Vinci, the Genius of the Universal Italy’, the local Italian Consulate General aims to pay homage to the great genius through five historic music concerts that will all be accompanied by a lecture to narrate Leonardo’s life and ideas.

A note posted by Consul Antonio Petrarulo reads: “They will reconstruct the Renaissance setting in which da Vinci grew up and developed through the suggestive atmosphere recreated by the musical instruments of the time, giving life to a unique artistic experience on the Argentinian scene.” The opening concert held today “narrated Leonardo’s childhood, constituting the first part of a musical itinerary that will accompany the public of Bahia Blanca in the upcoming months,” the note added.
