Actor Enrico Ianniello will represent Italy at the European Literature Night held in Lisbon. The event – which is organised by the Embassies and Institutes of Culture that are members of the EUNIC network in Portugal, including the Italian Cultural Institute – will involve fourteen spaces on the Colina de Santana which will host the reading of the works of fourteen European contemporary writers. Enrico Ianniello will read in Italian excerpts from his novel “La vita prodigiosa di Isidoro Sifflotin” in the Sala dos Passos Perdidos at the Nova Medical School in Lisbon, while actor Elmano Sancho will read the Portuguese translation.
After training with Vittorio Gassman in his “Bottega”, Enrico Ianniello worked with important members of the Italian star system although the general public principally remembers him in the role of police commissioner Vincenzo Nappi in the popular TV series “Un passo dal cielo”. After translating many plays from Castilian and Catalan to be staged in Italy, in 2015 he published his multi-award-winning debut novel “La vita prodigiosa di Isidoro Sifflotin” (winner of Premio Campiello Opera Prima).
