Korea: the Italian Cultural Institute sets up an Italy stand at the Seoul Book Fair 2019

The Italian Cultural Institute in Seoul, with the support of the Italian Embassy in Korea and in partnership with the Italian Publishers Association (AIE), set up an Italian stand at the “Seoul International Book Fair”, this year at its 25th edition. The Italy stand was inaugurated by Ambassador Failla and the Director of the Cultural Institute, Paola Ciccolella.

The 2019 stand is larger than in the previous editions, has an original and modern design and displays 10 images from the Alinari Archives by Italian authors who are best known and most translated in the Republic of Korea, namely D’Annunzio, Morante, Calvino and Fallaci. Inside, publishers and the professionals of the sector dispose of space in which to display their publications, ranging from art books to children’s books with the aim of arousing the interest of Korean publishers.

Yesterday, the meeting space hosted a conference entitled “The Reggio Emilia Approach to Education”, organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in cooperation with Reggio Children, a company established in 1994 to experiment, promote and disseminate a high-quality education system worldwide. Its internationally recognised experience and its cooperation with a large number of Countries, has generated a network with up to 32 members, including South Korea. The theme of the conference was the experience with Crèches and Nursery Schools in the Municipality of Reggio Emilia.
