Brasilia: the Italian Embassy hosts an exhibition on Leonardo

As part of the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci, the Italian Embassy in Brasilia hosts the exhibition “Leonardo Da Vinci Lives”. The exhibition, which will run until 1 November, was organised in association with the Centro Educacional Leonardo da Vinci di Brasilia and displays 21 prototypes built in a 1:1 scale on the design of the Italian Renaissance genius, six of which are being shown in Brazil for the first time. The life-size models, which include the Catapult, the Flying Machine, the Crossbow, the 33-pipe Organ and the Ornithopter, will be displayed alongside reproductions of the artist’s most famous paintings, including “The Last Supper”, the “Mona Lisa” and the “Lady with an Ermine”. The initiative is part of a rich agenda of events promoted by the Embassy to celebrate Leonardo, with conferences, lectures and the screening of docufilms to explore the life and work of the great Renaissance master. The exhibition will be open to school and university students of the Federal District, with which there is an ongoing joint effort to promote the figure of Leonardo.
