The opening of a wind farm built through the partnership between an Italian company and Košava in Izbište (Vojvodina) offered the opportunity to take stock of the economic cooperation existing between Italy and Serbia. “Our partnership,” said the Italian Ambassador in Belgrade, Carlo Lo Cascio, “is now extending to renewable energy sources and, in addition to the attention for green energy, Italy is also transmitting a strong message: we intend to continue investing in Serbia because we confide in the shared growth that will arise from our joint efforts. We are here to stay and to continue working together.” Italy – he recalled – is the third-largest producer of renewable energy in Europe with approximately 800 wind farms that last year produced 17 Terawatt-hours, with a saving of almost 21 million barrels of oil.
