Toronto: plants and metaphysics, a lecture by Emanuele Coccia

The Italian Cultural Institute in Toronto hosted a lecture by Professor Emanuele Coccia as part of the ‘The Other Shelf’ series of lectures organised at the Toronto Reference Library.

The chat with Canadian journalist and environmentalist Adria Vasil will focus on Professor Coccia’s latest work “’La vita delle piante. Per una metafisica della mescolanza”, which has been translated into English and is an international success also among non-experts. More than 150 people crowded the lecture by the Professor, who teaches at the École des Hautes E’tudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris, and who has recently been working on the ontological state of images and their normative power, especially in the field of fashion and advertising.
