An agreement launching a three-year operational cooperation was signed in Tehran between the Gaslini Hospital in Genoa and the Mahak Foundation. The agreement envisages an exchange of experiences, especially in paediatric oncology.
At the signing ceremony, the Italian Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Giuseppe Perrone, emphasised that Italy intends to play a distinctive role in the sector of children’s health. He said: “It is a sector that should have no boundaries and in which all the major institutions and research centres around the world are called on to strengthen their cooperation.” In this perspective, the Ambassador assured “maximum support for the initiatives that the two organisations will want to develop to implement the agreement that has just been signed”.
The agreement will also serve to support and revitalise scientific cooperation between hospitals and, in the future, between universities and business communities.
