For Holocaust Memorial Day on January 30, the Italian Cultural Institute of Bratislava, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy and the Israeli Embassy in Slovakia, will be presenting “Jewish Experience”, a jazz concert by the Gabriele Coen Trio at the Concert Hall of the Slovak National Radio.
Gabriele Coen on soprano saxophone and clarinet, Pietro Lussu on piano, and Marco Loddo on bass will present pieces from their own repertoire and jazz versions of classical Jewish music. Musician and composer Gabriele Coen founded “Klezroym”, the most important Italian group presenting traditional Jewish Klezmer folk music, in the mid-nineties and is one of its most important popularisers in Europe, reinterpreted in a jazz vein.
