Myanmar: Italian Food Festival, open doors in Residence

Show-cooking of tagliatelle, orecchiette, gnocchi, pizza, live demonstration of mozzarella-making in front of the guests, a masterclass on Tuscan wines and pizza school for children. These were some of the most appreciated moments of the second edition of the Italian Food Festival which last Sunday attracted nearly 3,800 people to the garden of the residence of the Italian Embassy in Myanmar.

The Chief Minister of the Yangon region, U Phyo Min Thein, who was welcomed and accompanied to the stands by Ambassador Alessandra Schiavo, participated in this open doors initiative.

A total of one hundred and twenty-eight operators took part in the initiative: from the world renown leading Italian brands, to the best Italian restaurants in Yangon, in addition to large-scale distribution and some local importers of Italian food and wine products.

In addition to the various activities dedicated to children and an oenology competition for adults, to entertain guests, the young composer Corrado Neri, who performed accompanied by the singer Federica Contarino, was presented.

Extensive coverage by the local press and social media also contributed to the success of the initiative, which doubled participation compared to the first edition.
