Belo Horizonte, a tribute to Italian cinema in music

The Italian Consulate in Belo Horizonte organizes a passionate musical tribute to the great Italian Cinema and its masters: from the melodies of the Oscar-winning Ennio Morricone, who died a few weeks ago, to the famous notes of Nino Rota, another award-winning composer of Federico Fellini’s films, whose centenary we celebrate this year.

Leading the audience along the musical path will be the Italian singer Mafalda Minnozzi, ambassador of auteur music in the world. “Cinema is the magical composition of images and music since its origins, when a pianist in the theatre emotionally commented on the scenes of silent films,” comments Mafalda Minnozzi. “At first listening, the soundtrack of a film immediately brings us back to the faces and phrases of the actors, as well as the director’s main shots. I hope to thrill you with my own passion,” adds the singer.

Mafalda Minnozzi will be accompained by the Brazilian pianist Tiago Costa and the American guitarist Paul Ricci. The appointment in the company of musical themes immortal of world cinema – just think of the melody of the Dolce Vita or Mathurity of the film Nuovo Cinema Paradiso – is for Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 19.00 local time (00.00 on Thursday in Italy) live on Youtube channel www.youtube.com/mafaldaminnozzi.
