On the occasion of the bicentenary of Anita Garibaldi’s birth, the Italian Cultural Institutes of Rio de Janeiro and San Paolo present “L’Attesa” (The Waiting), a monologue by Valeria Magrini, in two different versions: in Italian, performed by the young talent from Ravenna Asia Galeotti directed by Emanuele Montagna, and in Portuguese, performed by the Brazilian actress Camila Felix directed by Gianluca Barbadori.
The performances can be seen free of charge from 6.30 pm on 28 August, throughout September, on the YouTube channels of both Institutes. The debut will be introduced by a presentation event, with the live participation of the two directors, the two actresses and the author of the monologue, on 27 August at 6.30 pm.
The initiative is promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, in collaboration with Ponte tra Culture, a network of artists and cultural operators based in Ancona (Italy), Bogotá (Colombia) and Belo Horizonte (Brazil), the Scuola Teatro Colli and the Gruppo Teatro Colli of Bologna (Italy).
The Italian version of the play, which makes its debut on Saturday 7 August in Castiglione di Ravenna, is produced by the Gruppo Teatro Colli in collaboration with Fondazione Museo del Risorgimento, under the patronage of the Municipality of Ravenna.
