Three months after the death of the great Sicilian composer Franco Battiato, the Italian Cultural Institute of Montevideo will be presenting a lecture by Antonella Agostinis about the artistic career of this tireless experimenter who explored a wide range of musical genres (from pop and prog to ethnics, electronics, and the avant-garde). An interdisciplinary and always surprising artist, Battiato also wrote operas and music for the ballet, painted pictures, and made films for the big screen. The lecture will take place on 18 August at 7pm.
