Within the framework of the Italian-British climate diplomacy initiatives concerning the forthcoming international events in Milan (“Youth4Climate: Driving Ambitions” and pre-COP26) and Glasgow on COP26, the event “Dialogue between students and the public and private sectors on circular economy and climate change: best practices and reflections for the future” was held in the residence of Ambassador Francesco Genuardi in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event was attended by the Federal Minister for Climate and Environment of the Kingdom of Belgium, Zakia Khattabi. The conference, organised in cooperation with the UK Embassy in Brussels, involved 70 students from Belgian universities (ULB, VUB and UCLouvain). The initiative offered the opportunity to present Italian excellence in energy transition and technological innovation (ENEL, ENEA, SNAM, and Banca Intesa’s Turin Innovation Centre).
In view of the Milan appointment dedicated to young people, the students will draft a paper that will contribute to the proposals of the young people selected for Youth4Climate on the most urgent issues concerning the climate agenda and the Pre-COP26 negotiations (30 September-2 October 2021).
