Malaga: the Italian Film Festival kicks off

The Italian Film Festival (FCI) of Malaga has opened in Spain. This year’s theme is ”The Family”, in honour of Ettore Scola, author of the 1987 film with the same title and name starring Vittorio Gassman, Stefania Sandrelli and Fanny Ardant.
”The Family” will be screened during the Festival, sponsored by the Italian Embassy and organised by the Honorary Consulate of Malaga, the University of Malaga and the Dante Alighieri Society. The 2021 edition of the Festival will include, in addition to screenings of various films and short films, parallel activities such as a three-day workshop on topics related to film practice. The programme also includes a meeting with the screenwriter Marina Par,és, winner of the 2020 Goya Prize. In a video message sent for the inauguration of the Festival, the Italian Ambassador to Spain, Riccardo Guariglia, remarked:
“Culture, which does not suffer from the contagion of viruses, is rather a tool that helps to overcome difficult periods, such as that of the pandemic, and contributes, in this specific case, to the concrete development of Italian-Spanish relations”. The screenings will take place in the presence and virtual mode to reconcile culture and security.

Si è aperto in Spagna il Festival di Cinema Italiano (FCI) di Malaga che quest’anno ha come tema la famiglia, in onore di Ettore Scola, autore del film omonimo girato nel 1987 con tra gli interpreti Vittorio Gassman, Stefania Sandrelli e Fanny Ardant.

”La Famiglia” sarà proiettato nel corso della rassegna, patrocinata dall’Ambasciata d’Italia e organizzata dal Consolato onorario di Malaga, l’Università di Malaga e la Società Dante Alighieri. L’edizione 2021 del Festival prevede oltre a proiezioni di diversi film e cortometraggi, attività parallele come un workshop di tre giorni su temi legati alla pratica cinematografica. In programma anche un incontro con la sceneggiatrice Marina Par,és, Premio Goya 2020. In un video messaggio, inviato per l’inaugurazione del Festival l’Ambasciatore d’Italia in Spagna, Riccardo Guariglia, ha sottolineato:
“La cultura, che non soffre il contagio dei virus, è bensì uno strumento che aiuta a superare periodi difficili, come quello della pandemia, e contribuisce, nel caso specifico, a sviluppare concretamente le relazioni italo-spagnole”. Per conciliare cultura e sicurezza le proiezioni avverranno in presenza e in modalità virtuale.
