The Italian Ambassador to France, Teresa Castaldo, accompanied by the Consul General in Nice, Caterina Gioiella, visited the headquarters in Cannes of Thales Alenia Spaces, a joint venture between the French company Alenia Space (67%) and the Italian Leonardo (33%).
Thales Alenia Space is a cutting-edge innovative model of internationalisation in the space sector. A Europe-wide leader, the group specialises in the production of satellite systems and orbiting infrastructures used in telecommunications, navigation, Earth observation, space exploration and environmental management.
Arriving at the Cannes plant, Ambassador Castaldo was received by the CEO of Thales Alenia Space Italia, Massimo Claudio Comparini, and the General Manager of the Thales Alenia Space site in Cannes, Jean Horanieh. “Space – the Ambassador said – is the challenge of the future. The security of states and the well-being of citizens depend on it.”
During her visit, Ambassador Castaldo, who emphasised the importance of the close bilateral cooperation between France and Italy in the space and aerospace sectors, met the workers at the plant (including many Italian nationals).
