A rich program of events will celebrate “Dante, the Italian”, on the occasion of the 21st edition of Italian Language Week in the world, organized by the Italian Institute of Culture in Tunis. The events will be held for audiences and online on the Facebook page and on the YouTube channel of the Institute, produced in collaboration, among others, with the Swiss Embassy in Tunisia.
The program got under way on October 18 with a videoconference on the subject of “Paolo and Francesca, beyond the legend”, presented by Raimondo Fassa; this was a discussion on the reading and fundamental themes of Canto V of the Inferno. A seminar was then held on October 19 at the IIC in Tunis, on the work of the Great Poet, highlighting the contemporary resonance and vitality of his work; among the speakers were the Ambassador, Raffaele Campanella, who spoke on the subject of “Dante as a political figure, as seen by a diplomat”.
Three short movies (15 minutes each) will be shown on October 22, filmed in HD (4K) by different directors and videomakers: a tribute to Dante Alighieri, a scenic polyphony between the body and the verses of Dante, with environment sound accompaniment.
One of the events organized will feature the participation – on October 21, via the Zoom platform – of two projects realized by B2 level classes for the third edition of the “Student of the Italian Language Day”, organized by Sara D’Isanto with the support of the General Consulate of Italy in Montréal.
Among the other events, on Saturday October 23, the Centre des Arts Dramatiques et Scénques de Sfax, has scheduled “Italian Cinema Days at Sfax”, and will show the movie “La Dolce Vita” by Federico Fellini, to be followed by a round table, organized by Inspector Hichem Said and the Italian teachers with a discussion on Neorealism.
