On the occasion of the 17th Day of Contemporary Art, the Italian Embassy in Vietnam has launched a collaboration with Vietnam’s leading public television group, VTV, to screen the mini-series “Italia Contemporanea” (Contemporary Italy), dedicated to contemporary art sites in Italy. The series is produced by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in partnership with Sky Arte and with the executive production of TIWI.
The mini-series will include four episodes (“Metropolis”, “Open Air”, “Old and New” and “Off Road”), highlighting the allure and cutting-edge qualities of many Italian museums and exhibition venues hosting works by artists from around the world. The episodes are dubbed in Vietnamese and will be broadcast one a day – on VTV2 channel – from 6 to 9 December. The mini-series can also be viewed on VTV’s Go app for smartphones and tablets.
Through this project, the Italian Embassy and VTV aim to share with the Vietnamese public the Italian approach to contemporary art, based on universal principles and open to exchanges with other cultures and creative visions. Creativity is one of the values that best express the image of Italy in the world and which are presented in “Italy is simply extraordinary: beIT”, the new Made in Italy brand communication campaign promoted by the Foreign Ministry and ICE Agency in 26 countries, including Vietnam.
