On Friday, December 17, the Italian Ambassador to Moscow, Giorgio Starace, met at Villa Berg with representatives of the Italian business community in Russia, to illustrate the outcome of the 18th session of the Italo-Russian Council for Economic, Financial and Industrial Cooperation (CIRCEIF), which was held in Rome on December 6, attended by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Luigi Di Maio, and the Russian Minister for Trade and Industry, Denis Manturov.
During the meeting, the Ambassador called attention to the meeting of the Italo-Russian Business Council which preceded the works of the CIRCEIF, and which led to the formulation of a concrete plan of action to be implemented in the coming months. Expansion toward the regions of the Federation that often provide extraordinary investment opportunities, promotion of products Made in Italy in the context of the Russian policy of replacement of imports, assistance for the entry into Russia of small and medium Italian enterprises and start-ups active in the scientific and technological sectors: these were the goals outlined and illustrated by Ambassador Starace which, he pointed out, can only be achieved through teamwork. It is for this reason, said the Ambassador, that there is a need for “a more frequent and direct relationship with the entrepreneurial world in order to gain a cohesive orientation on the best actions for the institutions in a country as rich in opportunities, but also as complex as Russia”.
