Human rights, the future of young people, equal opportunities through the promotion of the role of women in the filmmaking industry, and the relaunch of film and TV productions following the lockdown are the main topics of the 7th edition of Filming Italy, which will open in Los Angeles on 28 February and will continue until 3 March 2022.
The Festival, organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in collaboration with the Italian Audiovisual Producers Association (APA) and Agnus Dei Tiziana Rocca Production, aims to promote Italy as a film set and as a bridge between Italian and American culture, but also to support the cultural growth of Italy through its cinema, the internationalization of Italian audiovisual products, and the intercultural relations among the different directors, producers and artists.
Giancarlo Giannini will be the Honorary President of this edition. The event’s rich programme includes the screening – 50% live and 50% digital using the streaming platform MyMovies – of over 50 titles including films, TV series, released and unreleased documentary films, and short films.
