The Italian Cultural Institute in Sydney confirmed its ten-year old collaboration with the Antenna Documentary Film Festival. For the 2022 edition, to be held from 2 to 13 February, the Festival artistic committee, chaired by David Rokach, selected two films related to Italy: “We are the thousand” and “Chef Antonio’s recipes for revolution”.

In “We are the thousand”, one thousand musicians gather in Cesena to celebrate their favourite rock band, the Foo Fighters, creating the largest music band that has ever performed live. Since then (the group was formed in 2015) the “Thousand” have held many gigs across Italy. The documentary film was directed by Anita Rivaroli, assisted by Roberto Di Tanna.

“Chef Antonio’s recipes for revolution”, an Italian-Australian co-production directed by Trevor Graham, is about an accommodation facility in Piedmont’s countryside: the Albergo Etico hotel and its restaurant, the Tacabanda. Both are run by chef Antonio de Benedetto, who assists young people with Down syndrome, giving them not just practical and working skills, but also a second house and a family they can feel they belong to.
