The Goffriler Ensemble is made up of musicians and members of the teaching staff at the Vincenzo Bellini Conservatory in Catania (Sicily). The Ensemble will be performing on 14 May at the “Chopin Piano Fest” in Pristina, a renowned music festival which this year reaches its 12th edition. The festival will run from 9 May to 8 June 2022.
Founded by Epifanio Comis, the Ensemble will be playing in a concert at the new University Library Amphitheatre, an event supported by the Italian Embassy in Kosovo.
In addition to the founder, on piano, the other performers will be Vito Imperato (violin), Giovanni Anastasio (violin), Alberto Salomon (viola) and Benedetto Munzone (cello). The programme for the Ensemble’s performance in Kosovo includes “Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 44” by Robert Schumann (1842) and “Piano Quintet No. 2 in A major, Op. 81” by Antonin Dvoràk (1887).
The Chopin Piano Fest was established in 2010 to mark the 200th anniversary of Chopin’s birth. The 2022 edition, curated by Lejla Haxhiu-Pula, will see performances by artists from Kosovo itself and from Albania, Macedonia, France, Austria, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain and, of course, Italy.
