Washington, 2 giugno tra sostegno a Ucraina e Made in Italy

On the occasion of the Republic Day celebrations, the Italian Ambassador to the United States of America, Mariangela Zappia, quoted the words spoken by the Head of State to remember Italy’s journey with the Constitution and its solemn commitment to peace and the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine. “We stand by Ukraine. We owe it to the Ukrainians, but we also owe it to ourselves”, said the Ambassador, recalling the strong bond of friendship between Italy and the United States.

The same bond was highlighted in the congratulations sent for the occasion by the Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, and in the speech by the Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Karen Donfried, who took the floor at the event on behalf of the US administration. The 2 June celebrations also provided an opportunity to showcase the best of Made in Italy, focusing on sustainability, innovation, creativity and culture. Three iconic Lamborghini cars were on display at the Embassy, arranged to form the Italian flag. The venue also hosted a stand by ENI dedicated to green transition, an electric Fiat 500, alongside an Enel X charging station, an electric Vespa and electric bicycles by Bianchi. Made in Italy mobility was also represented by ITA. Amazon Italia set up a stand of the “Made in Italy Days” event, launched on 30 May as part of the BeIT campaign by Minister Luigi Di Maio at the Farnesina.

With hi-tech, sustainability and creativity in mind, design products created with an Italian 3D printer using recycled and low-carbon materials were also on display.
