In Brasile “8 ½ Festa del Cinema Italiano”

The Italian Cultural Institutes in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo have teamed up to promote “8 ½ Festa del Cinema Italiano”, an event organised in Brazil by the Associazione Il Sorpasso and Risi Film Brazil, with the institutional sponsorship of the Italian diplomatic and consular network in Brazil.
The Festival will run from 28 July to 10 August in different cities, including Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Salvador, Porto Alegre, Londrina, Santos and Maringá.

The programme will show 12 among the Italian cinema’s best films of the last few years, all premiering in Brazil and screened in the original version with subtitles in Portuguese.

The selection of films includes: “Ennio” by Giuseppe Tornatore (2020); “Mamma Roma” by Pier Paolo Pasolini (1962); “Leonora Addio” by Paolo Taviani (2022); “Freaks Out” by Gabriele Mainetti (2021); “Qui rido io” by Mario Martone (2021); “The Ties” (“Lacci”) by Daniele Luchetti (2020); “Romantic Guide to Lost Places” by Giorgia Farina (2020); “The Code of Silence” (“Una femmina”) by Francesco Costabile (2022).
