Detroit hosted the 9th of the 12 events scheduled within the framework of the “LoveITDetroit” initiative, a one-month-long series of cultural promotion activities structured as a “Festival dedicated to Italian creativity”. Among other things, the initiative proposes a permanent installation of Made-in-Italy products and a parallel presence in the Metaverse, configured as a global platform accessible from all parts of the world and through which the Italian Consulate proposes to narrate Italian creativity in its three dimensions: economic, cultural, and scientific.

At the event, Italian Consul Allegra Baistrocchi was conferred the “Spirit of Detroit Award”. On receiving the award, she said: “I want to build even stronger bonds between this great City and my Country because there is an incredible untapped potential through which we can put in place new and interesting collaborations.”

The event also offered the opportunity to present the Motorvehicle University of Emilia-Romagna, which pools together the innovative competencies and technologies of the most famous automobile companies in the world and puts them at the service of students who aim to become the automotive sector’s new professionals. The topics discussed included the future of road and racing vehicles, the most sustainable propulsion systems and intelligent subsystems, as well as production plants in compliance with the Industry 4.0 strategy. The event will schedule speakers including the CEO of Dallara USA, Stefano DePonti and will showcase a magnificent Dallara EXP, one of a total of five in the whole of the United States, alongside three Ferraris.
