The first cultural event of the Italian Consulate General established in Bengaluru last spring was launched on 10 September. The Consulate organised the “Binary Codex” exhibition in the historic Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath gallery for the occasion, a retrospective on the work of Andrea Anastasio, Italian artist, designer and philosopher who has lived and worked between India and Italy over the past 30 years.

“Binary Codex” was produced by the Italian Embassy and the New Delhi Cultural Institute to mark the 75th anniversary of Indian independence and was presented in New Delhi last February. Anastasio also added some new pieces to the exhibition, including two works carried out in association with Indian artists Avinash Veeraraghavan and Bhajju Shiam.

The exhibition runs until 8 October and will be accompanied by a number of side events such as workshops and conferences.
