Italy’s participation in Expo Prado, Uruguay’s most important trade fair, closed with a record number of visitors. From 9 to 18 September, 100,748 people visited the Italy Pavilion set up by the Italian Embassy in Montevideo in partnership with the local Cámara Mercantil Uruguay-Italia and inspired by the “BeIT” campaign developed by the Farnesina and the ICE Italian Trade Agency for the promotion of Italian products throughout the world.
The Pavilion, which also promoted tourism in Italy in association with ENIT, the Italian National Tourism Agency, hosted fourteen companies dedicated to the production of Made-in-Italy products in the automotive, agrifood, and logistics sectors and wood processing technologies. The factor that contributed to the record number of visitors was a playbill rich in events, including concerts, dance performances and cooking laboratories aimed at promoting the Mediterranean Diet and Italy’s agrifood supply chain.
“Expo Prado is an exceptional showcase for Made-in-Italy products and the Italy Pavilion constitutes an ever-more prominent point of reference for Brand Italy in Uruguay, as confirmed by the extraordinarily warm participation of the Uruguayan public,” stated Italian Ambassador, Giovanni Iannuzzi.
