To celebrate the National Space Day, the Italian Embassy in Prague, jointly with the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague and the Italian Space Agency (ASI), and with the support of UniCredit Bank, presented the “Looking Beyond” project in the halls of the Thun-Hohenstein Palace. The photo exhibition of satellite images was organised by the Farnesina with contributions from the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and Telespazio/e-Geos.
The project, curated by Filippo Maggia, one of the leading experts in contemporary photography, consists of an exhibition of images obtained from data from the Italian Cosmo-SkyMed satellite constellation.
The event was opened with a speech by Italian Ambassador Mauro Marsili, followed by a conference organised by Space Attaché Maria Cristina Falvella, attended by Franco Malerba, Italy’s first astronaut, Alessandro Coletta, ASI Director of the Cosmo SkyMed mission, and Sergio Ponzi, Telespazio’s Director of Institutional Relations.
The initiative was an opportunity to promote national expertise in the space sector and the upcoming events that will see Italy as a reference point for the global community, such as the International Astronautical Conference to be held in Milan in 2024.
