On the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the Italian Air Force, the Italian Cultural Institute of Lima organises the photographic exhibition “Volare Tricolore” by Elena Barsottelli. It is an exhibition in which each picture recalls the magic and emotion of the air show, an activity of the Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale (PAN) (National Aerobatic Team).

Created in 1961, following the Air Force’s decision to create a permanent group for the collective aerobatics training of its pilots, the team flies ten Aermacchi MB-339 aircraft, nine of which in close formation and one soloist. The team’s flight programme comprises some twenty aerobatics lasting about half an hour. Through a selection of pictures taken over the last decade, the exhibition illustrates the undeniable technical skills and emotion that pilots and aircraft are able to convey in their performances, where landscape and Italian technological and artistic excellence find a perfect match. The exhibition will remain open until 28 July.
