The Italian Cultural Institute of New Delhi announces the arrival in India of the exhibition “La Grande Visione Italiana. Collezione Farnesina” (The Great Italian Vision. Farnesina Collection) which will open on 26 May. More than 70 Italian masterpieces of modern and contemporary art, selected from the works that make up the Farnesina Collection – the art collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation – will be on display until 22 June at the Bikaner House – Centre for Contemporary Art in New Delhi.

The travelling exhibition – which already toured Singapore and Tokyo and will reach Seoul after New Delhi – aims to present the Italian artistic identity to the general public through a thematic itinerary. “La Grande Visione Italiana. Collezione Farnesina” recounts a compelling journey through the history of Italian art from the 20th century to date, showing seventy-one works selected by Achille Bonito Oliva, featuring more than sixty great artists chosen to represent Italian art, from Umberto Boccioni to Carla Accardi, from Mimmo Jodice to Michelangelo Pistoletto, passing through Mario Merz and Grazia Varisco.
