Italian cellist Emanuela Mosa and Japanese pianist Mayaka Nakagawa will perform in a mini Australian tour organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Sydney in collaboration with the Italian Music Council in Rome (CIDIM). After the break imposed by the pandemic, the programming of the “Suono italiano” music series, which sees emerging artists, but already endowed with solid international prestige, perform for Australian audiences, is thus resuming.

During their concerts – scheduled for 10 August in Canberra at the Ainslie&Gorman Arts Centre and the following day, 11 August, at the Italian Cultural Institute on York Street – the two musicians will perform music by Dmítrij Šostakóvič, Francesco Cilea and Gian Francesco Malipiero.

Emanuela Mosa is a cello teacher at the “V. Bellini” Conservatory in Caltanissetta. She obtained the First Level Academic Diploma in Piano in 2017 and the Second Level Academic Diploma in Cello in 2019. She has won prizes and attended several Masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians. Mayaka Nakagawa graduated from University of Music in Tokyo and went on to complete her master’s degree in piano as a special invited student. She has won numerous national and international prizes and is currently studying at the International Piano Academy in Imola.
