The Italian Design Day 2023 is being celebrated today in Croatia with two events organised in Zagreb by the Italian Embassy.
At the Forum Gallery, Italian Ambassador Pierfrancesco Sacco opened the Conference titled “The role of the Wood Industry and Design in the Circular Economy”, aimed at investigating the role of design applied to the wood industry in fostering and supporting the circular economy and sustainable development.
The event was also attended by the President of the Croatian Employers’ Association (HUP) Mihael Furjan and a number of experts in the field from both countries, including architect Nasrin Mohiti from the architects’ collective “Collettivo Orizzontale”, Ambassadors of Italian Design for Croatia for 2023. The initiative featured several design works created using recycled wood by the Collective, by Italian companies Calligaris and Florian, and by the University of Zagreb.
Furthermore, Museo del Marchio Italiano in Castellammare di Stabia will hold an exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institute, showcasing the history, images and peculiarities of 15 historical Italian brands in the automotive, food and fashion sectors, including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Barilla and Fendi.
