The Italian Cultural Institute of Buenos Aires, in partnership with the Museum of Immigration (MUNTREF), presents the round table “Gente con noi. Syria Poletti e l’immigrazione italiana” (“People with us. Syria Poletti and Italian Immigration”), to be held on 30 September.
Claudia Razza, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Trieste and translator of the Italian edition of “Gente conmigo” by Syria Poletti, will discuss the work of the Italian-Argentinian author and how she describes migration by emphasizing its dramatic but constructive nature that reflects in a double identity intended as a conquest and not a loss. This approach highlights the peculiar cultural contribution of the Italian migration to Argentina as well as the resourcefulness and industriousness linked to the Italian presence in this country.
Marcelo Huernos, curator and researcher of the Museum of Immigration and Marcos Novaro, sociologist, political analyst and researcher, will also take part in the round table.
