The Italian Embassy in Beijing and the Italian Cultural Institute organised “A Night at the Museum” a few days ago, where visitors were able to attend the exhibition “The Light of Ancient Roman Civilization: Masterpieces from the National Archaeological Museum of Naples”, held at the China World Art Museum in Beijing.
More than 200 people attended the event – organised in partnership with Italian Trade Agency and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce – including representatives of public administrations and local academic institutions, members of the Chinese society, and the local and Italian business community.
The exhibition “The Light of Ancient Roman Civilisation”, which remained open until 8 October, was inaugurated last June by Ambassador Massimo Ambrosetti in the presence of the director of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, Paolo Giulierini; it was later visited by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, during his recent mission to China.
The high cultural and artistic value exhibition received considerable success among the Chinese public. Moreover, it is among the initiatives currently underway in the country aiming to deepen the knowledge of Italian culture in China, taking advantage of the close cooperation between Italian and Chinese institutions and entities.
