The Italian Cultural Institute of Sydney, which has been collaborating with the International Festival of Photography ‘Head On’ for over a decade, is promoting the participation of five Italian artists for the 2023 edition. These are Antonio Denti, Diego Fedele, Flavio Brancaleone, Mauro Curti and Pierpaolo Mittica.
Two of the artists, Fedele and Brancaleone, have become renowned in Australia. The Festival, which was founded in 2004 by Moshe Rosenzveig with the first Head On Portrait Award, is run by the non-profit organisation Head On Foundation and will take place from 11 November to 3 December in a number of venues, including the Bondi seafront promenade, Paddington Town Hall and a number of galleries.
Immediately following the opening is an Italian night at the Bondi Pavilion on Sunday 12 November. The Italian Cultural Institute will also organise a group exhibition at its York Street venue from 23 November, showcasing two images from each of the Italian photographers present at the Festival, to encourage visitors to view the individual exhibitions at the various sites where they will be on display until the close of ‘Head On’.
