Yesterday, as a representative of one of the main donor countries and in the framework of the Italian G7 Presidency, the Ambassador of Italy to Poland, Luca Franchetti Pardo, took part in Warsaw in the launching conference of the new “Regional Refugee Response Plan for Ukraine”, organised by UNHCR Poland. In addition to the international organisation’s partners (103 NGOs, 80% of which come from Polish civil society) and the international community of donor countries, several Polish Ministers were present.

The conference was an opportunity to launch an appeal to donor countries to fund the USD 3.1 billion Humanitarian Response Plan for Ukraine 2024. In front of a large audience, Ambassador Franchetti Pardo reaffirmed Italy’s commitment to stand by Ukraine also in humanitarian assistance, stressing that such action is “an investment not only for the future of Ukrainian citizens, but also for Ukraine’s European perspective, which Italy strongly supports”. The Ambassador added: “In its capacity as G7 Chair, Italy has placed Ukraine as one of the Group’s priorities.”
