A selection of Italian startups had the opportunity to meet with several Berlin investors during the networking event “Achievement and growth of the Italian startup scene”, as organised by the Italian Embassy to Germany.
The startups, which were all winners or finalists of national calls and awards, had the opportunity to describe their innovative products and projects to investors, first in a phase of short presentations, and then in one-on-one sessions. Several sectors were represented: Climate&Clean TechBuildingIT and IAHealthSpace economy and Automotive.

“Startups are the present and the future of the economy,” said Ambassador Armando Varricchio in opening the event. “On the one hand, they boost creativity and innovation, taking full advantage of the potential of modern digital, IT and AI tools. On the other, they possess the flexibility to successfully integrate into national and international value chains, while also promoting a completely new corporate culture based on sustainability. Italy is fully aware of the extraordinary potential of startups, and it is convinced that Germany is the perfect partner for enhanced cooperation in this field.”

The startups that participated in the initiative are recipients of funds from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s call for proposals known as ISAG1 (Italian Start-Ups Accelerate in Germany 1st Edition) and of the Italian Trade Agency call known as “Global Start Up Program – 4th Edition”. They were also finalists in recent editions of the National Innovation Award (PNICube Network for Entrepreneurial Enhancement of Scientific Research).
