The 2025 edition of Italian Design Day in Paraguay took place from 24 to 26 February, organised by the Embassy of Italy in Asunción.
The photography exhibition Career Photography was hosted at the Miguel Acevedo Hall of the Manzana de la Rivera Cultural Centre in Asunción, featuring a selection of images dedicated to the winners of the prestigious Compasso d’Oro Career Award for Photography—the world’s oldest and most renowned industrial design award.
This edition’s guest was Professor Fabrizio Quatrini, a senior architect, designer, and lecturer at the Accademia del Lusso in Rome, with an outstanding career in architecture, design, and visual communication. He has collaborated with Habitat Legno SpA and several architecture and engineering firms, specialising in 3D modelling and project management. Additionally, his passion for photography has led him to develop branding and interior design projects.
As part of the programme, Quatrini shared his insights on the impact of design on society through the masterclass Inequalities: Design for a Better Life at the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Art (FADA) of the National University of Asunción (UNA).
Italian Design Day is a global event aimed at showcasing the excellence of Italian design and its impact on everyday life. This edition explores the role of design in reducing inequalities and its contribution to social well-being, addressing key themes such as spatial planning, accessibility, sustainability, education, health, urban regeneration, transport, and infrastructure.
The event represents a unique opportunity to assess the influence of design in improving both individual and collective well-being, reinforcing Paraguay’s role as a hub for cultural exchange between Italy and Paraguay, as well as a platform for discussing the future of design on a global scale.
