The two-day event promoting the island of wonders, “Sardinia, an emotion to experience all year round“, concluded today in Prague with a press conference. The initiative was organised by the Czech tour operator Sardegna Travel, founded by Martina and Antonio Costantino.
Yesterday, twenty-two Sardinian operators participated in B2B sessions at the headquarters of the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CAMIC), engaging with industry representatives from Belgium, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Slovakia.
Key topics included sustainable, multi-thematic travel with extended seasonality, with a particular focus on the island’s longevity as a unique feature. Special attention was given to the need for alternative tourism options beyond mass tourism, offering theme-based experiences linked to well-being, sports, culture, gastronomy, and local traditions.
Now in its third edition, the initiative was held under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Prague, in collaboration with CAMIC, the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, and the Association of Travel Agencies of the Czech Republic (ACK-ČR).
Among the key speakers at the two-day event were Mauro Marsili, Italian Ambassador to the Czech Republic; Danilo Manghi, President of CAMIC; Davide Crognaletti, Commercial Director of Cagliari Airport; director Pietro Mereu; and Roberto Sau, representing Unioncamere Sardegna.
The Sardegna Travel project is part of a broader strategic initiative supported by Italian institutions in the Czech Republic. It was launched with a conference on the state of the tourism sector in the fields of study, research, and innovation, held on 11 May 2022 in the Baroque Chapel of the Italian Cultural Institute of Prague.
Meanwhile, connections between the Czech Republic and Sardinia are improving: from 17 April to 19 October, Smartwings will operate five weekly direct flights between Prague and Cagliari.
