The excellence and creativity of Italian fashion arrived in India with the first edition of the Italian Fashion Days in the World, an initiative promoted by the Italian Embassy in New Delhi, the Consulate General in Mumbai, and the Italian Cultural Institute of New Delhi, in collaboration with The Platform, an Italian fashion media publisher.
From 28 to 30 October 2025, three of the country’s most dynamic cities — New Delhi, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad — hosted a rich programme of events aimed at fostering dialogue between Italian fashion and the Indian market. The initiative sought to promote quality, training, sustainability, and innovation in Made in Italy products, while encouraging new partnerships among businesses, designers, and industry professionals.
The series opened in New Delhi with talks and meetings between Italian and Indian designers on sustainability and Italian tailoring, alongside the inauguration of the exhibition Italia è Moda, dedicated to young creative talents from the Made in Italy sector.
The second stage took place in Mumbai, featuring contributions from key figures in the Italian fashion industry and a fashion show by the Istituto Marangoni to mark its 90th anniversary.
The programme concluded in Ahmedabad with discussions on craftsmanship, innovation, and luxury embroidery, as well as a tribute to Giorgio Armani.
Launched in January 2025 by Minister Tajani within the framework of the “growth diplomacy” strategy promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Fashion Days in the World represent a global format designed to strengthen the international presence of Italian fashion, support business internationalisation, and promote a shared narrative connecting culture, creativity, and industry.
Thanks to collaboration with The Platform, the initiative further reinforced cultural and economic ties between Italy and India, reaffirming fashion as a key ambassador of Made in Italy around the world.
