On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Italian Republic, Ambassador Carlo Baldocci, together with staff of the Embassy and the Sistema Italia, attended a flag-raising ceremony.
In his remarks, the Ambassador first paid tribute to the women and men who, through their commitment, work and participation in democratic life, have contributed to building and strengthening the Republic.
Ambassador Baldocci also highlighted the Mission’s activities, both in relation to Saudi Arabia and to Yemen, a secondary country of accreditation, expressing satisfaction with the results achieved and those expected in the context of the progressive consolidation of bilateral relations.
The traditional celebration, open to Italian nationals, institutional guests, diplomats, business representatives and members of civil society – which in Riyadh normally brings together around 1,500 people – has instead been postponed, for reasons of opportunity, until after the summer.
“The Tricolour is the symbol that inspires and guides our daily work and that represents our history, our values and our ideals,” the Ambassador concluded.
