The Consul General of Italy in Benghazi, Francesco Colombo, today visited the two Italian nationals belonging to the Global Sumud Flotilla convoy who are currently being held in eastern Libya, delivering them some comfort items.
The two Italian citizens reported that they are being treated appropriately and, in the presence of the Consul General, were able to contact their respective families. They are also expected to receive additional clothing.
During the visit, Consul General Colombo requested that the competent authorities also allow the legal counsel appointed by the Flotilla to have access to the two Italian nationals.
