Citizens registered with the A.I.R.E. who return to Italy definitively shall go to the Italian Municipality where they have decided to settle in order to declare their new address of residence. This shall be done within the time limits laid down by Italian Presidential Decree no. 223 of 30 May 1989. Administrative fines shall be imposed in case of failed or delayed submission of the repatriation declaration. On the same date, the Municipality shall provide for the cancellation from the A.I.R.E. and the simultaneous registration in the Register of the Resident Population (A.P.R.). The Municipality will officially communicate the effective date of repatriation to the Consulate of origin, which will in turn register the repatriation in its consular files.
