EU: Asia vital to recovery, EU-Asia relations a priority
“In Asia, we Europeans see a vital anchor for our economic recovery”. This was the comment by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the European Union’s future High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Federica Mogherini, speaking at the Asia-Europe Business Forum in Milan. Mogherini observed that Europe has always had an active presence in Asia, and that the two continents have a similar agenda for many issues, such as security and social cohesion. Today’s list of priorities includes EU-Asia relations: “increased cooperation offers enormous potential, potential that we must develop”, concluded Minister Mogherini.
