The Bulgarian President, Rosen Plevneliev, awarded Ambassador Stefano Benazzo the First Class Stara Planina, the Republic of Bulgaria’s highest honour, on 31 July 2012. The honour was awarded for the Ambassador’s “exceptional merit in developing and strengthening relations between Bulgaria and Italy”.
