The presentation of the 47th edition of the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples, scheduled to take place in Rimini from 21 to 26 August 2026 under the title “The love which moves the sun and the other stars”, was held at Palazzo Borromeo, the seat of the Embassy of Italy to the Holy See, on Wednesday 8 July.
Following the welcoming remarks by Ambassador Francesco Di Nitto, speakers included the Undersecretary of State for Economy and Finance, Lucia Albano, the Custos of the Holy Land and Guardian of Mount Zion, Fr. Francesco Ielpo-OFM, Benedetta Giovanola, Professor of Moral philosophy at the University of Macerata, and the President of the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples Foundation, Bernhard Scholz.
The event, which was attended by the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Massimo Dell’Utri, highlighted the presence, for the eighth consecutive year, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the Meeting.
In particular, this year will see the launch of the “Seeding the Future” section, which will focus on cooperation between humankind and nature and sustainable development, with a particular emphasis on Africa.
