Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edmondo Cirielli, travelled to the United Kingdom on an official visit to further bilateral political dialogue on key international issues and to meet with leading Italian companies in the aerospace and defence sectors.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister met with the British Minister of State for Europe, North America, and the Overseas Territories, Stephen Doughty, who had just been reappointed to his position by the new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham. The meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the excellent state of bilateral relations between Italy and the United Kingdom in the political, economic, and strategic cooperation spheres. In this context, attention was drawn to the positive trend in trade, which reached EUR 35 billion in 2025. The discussion then turned to major international issues, ranging from Ukraine to EU-UK relations; the exchange highlighted a broad convergence of views and a desire to further strengthen coordination.

Deputy Minister Cirielli also visited the Farnborough International Airshow, the leading international event dedicated to the aerospace and defence industries, where he met with top executives from major Italian companies in the sector attending the event and discussed prospects for further industrial and technological cooperation.
