Deputy Foreign Minister Edmondo Cirielli’s mission to Warsaw ended today.
The Deputy Minister met with Undersecretary Artur Harazim at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting took place at an excellent time for relations between Italy and Poland, as evidenced by the recent visits to Rome by President Nawrocki and Prime Minister Tusk and by the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Foreign Ministers Tajani and Sikorski on April 22, as well as steadily growing trade, exceeding €36 billion annually.
The meeting focused on strengthening economic, commercial, and cultural cooperation. Ample space was also devoted to key international issues, with particular attention to joint support for Ukraine, the next steps in the European Union’s enlargement process, and immigration challenges.
Deputy Minister Cirielli also went to lay a wreath at the Italian Military Cemetery in Bielany, which holds the remains of 868 Italian soldiers who died in captivity during the First World War.
