“Rebecca will soon be transferred to the German or Swiss hospital of her family’s choice for a major operation.
This has been possible thanks to the work of the Italian diplomatic network that has allowed the contact between both German and Swiss medical teams with the Italian doctors who are treating Rebecca, following Minister Di Maio’s personal involvement. Covid19 security measures, which all medical facilities must comply with, prevented the immediate transfer of the girl at the end of March to avoid possible exposure to contagion.
The diplomatic network will continue to work to give maximum support to the family in organising the logistics of the transfer”.
